Michaels early thoughts of Knights " I'm looking forward to seeing this big horse in the flesh, he has great breeding and with only one start under his belt hopefully he is a horse we can work with for a while. Danny Beasley actually pointed this horse out to me on our drive back from Sydney sighting he has trialled in some really strong heats that he had seen some talented horses come out of so peaked my initial interest. I really liked the way he attacked the line in his only start pinning the ears back and having a go.....I love that in a horse. That race they ran the fastest last 600 of the day running 32.64 so I am also hoping the sit sprint of the race didn't suit him.
I spoke to the stud prior to purchasing him and they said he was still a little thick in the wind but that's a given after throat surgery, but it was over 6 months ago now and he has trialled twice and raced since.....I don't think Waller would of sent him around to fail if he thought it was a major issue. It was also mentioned he has been gelded since his race so that's one less thing we have to worry about. At just under $4000 to purchase with all the hard work done for us I think he is great value "
